This post goes out to all the amazing mentors out there, who take time out of their busy lives to help out their fellow humans.
I have been lucky to have some of the most amazing mentors in my life. This is a tribute to the awesome humans that made a huge difference in my life.
Dr. Vinayak Sharma (Etobicoke, ON)- I met Dr. Vin at golden target training centre. He trained me and my friend, Ravi, for 15 days in December 2018, when everyone else was on holiday. He continued our training through the Christmas and New year's break! His techniques helped me pass my ACS. He was very strict about no shortcuts, proper techniques, proper diet, exercise, breaks, the law of attraction theory and many more things that I still follow in my life. I remember, he had left the teaching job at golden target and started working at a clinic when I was taking my OSCE, I texted him that I can't visualize the passing result on the NDEB website and he sent me a screenshot of his OSCE results! It made a huge difference in my life! I still have that screenshot as my screen saver π
So Thank you, Dr. Vinayak you are a lovely human being and an awesome mentor!
2. Dr. Fatimeh ( Dakota Dental, Ontario) Congratulations Dr. Fatimeh on the grand opening of your beautiful clinic! I met Dr. Fatimeh at Golden target centre. She used to teach on Saturdays and I never attended Saturdays because my kid's daycare was closed on weekends. But as the ACS exam date crept up, I wanted to attend Saturdays too so I hired a nanny from nannies on call and I finally met Dr. Fatimeh. She is such a kind and gentle soul ( your patients are very lucky!) she helped me refine my skills back then and she continues to help me even now. Whenever I am stuck during any procedure, I ask for her opinion and expertise. She has helped me out with a lot of my endo cases, provided some very useful tips and she always reminds me that we are humans not machines. She would say- if they thought Robots were better than us, they would have replaced us by now π her knowledge skills are impeccable! and I am very lucky to have her as my mentor.
3. Dr. David Ho (FNIh) Dr. Ho is the βgoogleβ of any thing FNIh related and very approachable. I remember he took time out of his vacation and called me before I started working at Nelson House to explain everything. Even now if I have any questions about anything FNIh related, I contact him and he always has ALL the answers! Your patients still talk about you here at Nelson House Dr.D they miss you, Lac Brochet is lucky to have you.
4. Dr. Judy Z (FNIH)- I did my one-week orientation with Dr.Judy at Oxford house. She was very organized and she explained everything in detail. I still follow her charts and sheets and it makes the paperwork so much easier to deal with! I am so lucky that she agreed to do the orientation even during Covid, I would have drowned in paperwork without her guidance.
I can't help but thank these amazing humans every day and send lots of good vibes their way ππ
Have you thanked your mentors today? Send them a note and let them know how much you appreciate their kindness.
Love and light,
